The direct route
Hardware capture to hardware decode.
Android MediaProjection and H.264 hardware encoding feed Apple’s VideoToolbox decoder, with no computer or internet service in the middle.
Open source · local network only
QuestCast sends your Meta Quest view directly to Apple TV with a latency-first native video path—and optional experimental headset audio.
Designed for Meta Quest 3 · Apple TV · trusted home networks
Built for immediacy
QuestCast favours the newest picture over a perfect delayed stream. Late or incomplete frames are discarded, keeping the experience responsive.
The direct route

Automatic discovery
Bonjour finds QuestCast TV on the local network, so there are no IP addresses or pairing codes to type.
Audio on your terms
Enable experimental 48 kHz stereo audio manually on the headset. It stays off by default and never captures the microphone.
Useful when needed
Press Play/Pause on the Siri Remote to reveal codec, frame, loss, and audio-buffer information over the live picture.
Private by design
No account, analytics, cloud service, recording, or relay. Use QuestCast only on a trusted local network.
Three simple steps
The Quest app can be installed from a GitHub release. The Apple TV receiver currently builds through Xcode using your own Apple Developer team.
Read the complete setup guide →Leave the elegant waiting screen open on Apple TV.
Open QuestCast in the headset and select the discovered receiver.
Accept Horizon OS screen capture. Enable audio first only if you want it.
Community built, primarily with OpenAI's Codex.
